Hatha Yoga Teachers

All proficient practitioners of yoga, our team of hatha yoga teachers is dedicated to the mind-body connection that is the hallmark of yoga. They draw from a variety of hatha yoga principles to help you integrate breath with postures and work at the level that is right for you. Through continued practice, you will be able to recognize the deep ties between the body and the mind and learn easy techniques that bring harmony to all systems of the body. The following dedicated staff of hatha yoga teachers have been trained and certified by Swami Shankarananda:

 

Yoga Acharyas

Swami Bhaktananda has been practicing yoga for 20 years and is a specialist in teaching yoga to pregnant women. She likes to focus on the mind/body connection and uses meditation and postures to relax and invigorate the body.

Julia Renaud has been practising yoga for over ten years.  Her area of special interest is pre-natal yoga.  She works to improve core body strength for women and to help deal with the mind and emotions during pregnancy and birth.  She has also taught yoga and meditation in high schools and gyms, as well as yoga for young children.

 

Kali Nolle emphasizes using yoga postures to open the energy channels in the body, releasing tension. Her classes focus on stilling the mind and achieving a state of inner peace.

 

 

 

Senior Yoga Teachers

Alex Buxton: As an athlete, Alex started yoga at an early age and enjoys the challenges of teaching individuals at all levels. Along with a steady practice, he recommends special groups of postures that can develop any weak areas and generate all-around health.

Lila Crombie Crombie has been a practitioner of hatha and oki-do yoga for 10 years. She is especially interested in the use of yoga to release stresses connected with the workplace and to increase energy.

Nicholas Brash has been a practitioner of hatha yoga with various teachers since 1978. He emphasizes using the postures to unblock everyday stress and prepare the mind/body for meditation.

Anandi Fenwick: Known for her great enthusiasm, Anandi likes the energizing qualities of yoga. She also focuses on the connection between body and emotions, relaxing areas of tightness and releasing blocks.

Utpal Dylan Frusher, a long-time practitioner, focuses on hatha yoga as an aid to meditation. He emphasizes using yoga to unblock physical and mental tension and achieve an overall sense of well-being.

Purnima Bunyevich, enjoys the link between breath and movement, creating a natural and graceful hatha yoga class.
