Book Preview: Introduction
“In May of 1994 I attended a meditation class in Melbourne led by Swami Shakarananda. I had previously participated in many courses, both psychological and spiritual in nature, and was immediately struck by the depth of his teachings and the ease and humour with which he imparted his wisdom. The excerpts in this book were taken from some of the many talks Swami Shankarananda has given at the Shiva Ashram in Mount Eliza and at other places over the past few years.” - Tanya Lee
About this book
This collection of aphorisms is presented for contemplation and as a means of Self-inquiry:
As we meditate we build a true identity. That true identity gets stronger and stronger, and then we can recognise the voice of wisdom and truth. That voice is the voice of the Self.
Instead of striving to build something and get somewhere discover the perfection that already is.
Ask yourself: what is the essence of my spiritual journey? What is the essence of my inner quest? What is my next step?
