The ashram was delighted to welcome one of Baba’s successers, Swami Nityananda and his party for a weekend retreat. Swami Nityananda is on the Australian leg of his world-wide tour, “In the Footsteps of Baba” which celebrates and remembers his and Swamiji’s teacher, Baba Muktananda. After a warm welcome and lunch, the group were treated to some fine rock and roll at ‘Pop and Selma’s’ café. The evening program featured the Shiva Mahimna and an ecstatic dancing sapta with both Swamis drumming powerfully. Saturday morning began early with the Guru Gita and, after breakfast, a tour of the local area for the visitors. An informal Satsang at midday was followed by a large evening program attended by many ‘old timers’ who knew and loved Baba. It was a Satsang full of shakti as both Swamis spoke; we chanted Hare Ram, sang bhajans and meditated together. It felt like a coming together of members of our extended family and was a great occasion. The next morning we chanted Guru Gita, had a fine breakfast of dosas and farewelled the party.
