Last night we began the celebration of Swamiji’s birthday with a delicious feast, and continued with a Satsang full of special events. Despite his protests that he ‘didn’t like being reminded he was a person’, Swamiji succumbed with good grace to the ‘love torture’ of his many devotees. Joking that he needed to take refuge on this night at the 'feet of his Guru', Swamiji drew his talk on ‘Satsang with Baba’, a volume of questions and answers from the days when he spent time in the ashram of Baba Muktanananda. Following a puja to Bhagawan Nityananda, the evening was then turned over to birthday celebrations. Ma Devi gave a moving talk in which she outlined Swamiji’s many remarkable achievements and included sweet statements of gratitude from some of the ashramites. A huge birthday cake was presented; the Ganeshpuri ‘it’s your birthday’ song was sung and then we all had the chance to have darshan with Swamiji and Ma Devi.
