SWAMIJI IN NEW YORK Mini-Intensive Awakening the Inner Power The Intensive program is dedicated to shaktipat, the spiritual awakening, which is the essence of spirituality. During the Intensive Swamiji gives the touch, or spiritual initiation, which is transmitted directly from teacher to student and awakens the kundalini, the divine energy. The Siddhas (Great Beings) tell us that kundalini is present within every person. This energy is the secret mystery that enlivens us. When ignited, it awakens the fire of yoga. This enables us to meditate more easily and deeply, establishing the mind in the Self so that we can engage in the outer world with intelligence and compassion. Swamiji was empowered by his teacher, Baba Muktananda, to give shaktipat. Baba said of him: ‘He is able to carry my message to everyone and he has the power to make people experience the divine presence’.
