Shiva Symposium: Vaishnavism 28th September 2008
We were honoured to have Bhakta Dasa of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) visit the ashram on Sunday 28th September for our 81st Shiva Symposium. Bhakta Dasa was the founder of Gopals Indian restaurant in Melbourne, and has spent 35 years in devoted service to Krishna. He was perfectly placed to speak to us about the history of Vaishnavism and his talk both elucidated this history and related it to our contemporary lives. As Swamiji remarked after the discussion, Bhakta Dasa was a great "feast of love", and a wonderful example of someone whose life is the epitome of bhakti yoga.
