‘Nityananda: The Living Tradition’ website launch Saturday 8 August 2009
The feeling was vibrant and exciting at Satsang this week for the celebration of the 48th anniversary of Bhagavan Nityananda’s Mahasamadhi. It was a particularly auspicious occasion as Swamiji officially opened Nityananda: The Living Tradition website. A coconut was broken and Swamiji cut the ribbon to signify the opening.

We had the great fortune of watching part of the Sadguru Nityananda DVD (A Life Sketch of Swami Nityananda). The DVD told stories of Bhagavan’s life and the miracles that occurred around him.
Swamiji said that ‘Bhagavan Nityananda is the image of a Great yogi who is completely absorbed in his own self. He just sat there and radiated spiritual energy or ‘Shakti’, creating a tremendous impact. After Swamiji’s last visit to Ganeshpuri he felt inspired to chronicle and compile all the great yogis of our tradition. Swamiji said, ‘The purpose of the website is to place Bhagavan Nityananda at the center and to bring in everyone that he touched and not make distinctions’. We were then guided through parts of the website.
Bhagavan said, ‘Establish the truth of oneness in your heart through concentration and understanding. This is the highest state. Truth is sugar. The juice of the fruit that grows on the tree of desirelessness. This is the sweet juice of wisdom. It is the juice of yoga that transforms every quality of body. Direct it upward’. Swamiji said that ‘juice’ is the nectar or the result of yoga.

To lead into meditation Swamiji said, ‘It is important to become acquainted with the part of you that is thought-free, serene, content and complete. The yogis say that the place of fulfillment and contentment is already with us. Go to the place of peace, contentment and fullness that’s already there. We call that place the Self’.
