Labyrinth project at the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park Sunday 12 September
On Sunday 12 September, Swamiji was one of the opening speakers at the launch of Andrew Rogers Labyrinth project at the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park in Langwarrin. The ribbon leading into the winding stone pathways was officially cut by Dame Elizabeth Murdoch and then Swamiji joined a number of esteemed Melbourne spiritual figures (including The Anglican Archbishop the Right Reverend Dr Philip Freier) who discussed the labyrinth's spiritual significance. Swamiji spoke beautifully about the labyrinth as a symbol in Hinduism akin to a mandala that represents our spiritual journey from darkness to light or from ignorance to the Inner Self. He also related the uncoiling pathways to the seven chakras and the movement of the kundalini energy to the crown of the head. After the speeches the crowd enjoyed a contemplative winding walk through the space.
