About Intensives

The Intensive is a full-day program dedicated to shaktipat, the spiritual awakening, which is the essence of Shiva Yoga. During the Intensive Swamiji gives the touch, or spiritual initiation, which is transmitted directly from teacher to student and awakens the kundalini, the divine energy.

The Siddhas (Great Beings) tell us that kundalini is present within every person. This energy is the secret mystery that enlivens us. When ignited, it awakens the fire of yoga. This enables us to meditate more easily and deeply, establishing the mind in the Self so that we can engage in the outer world with intelligence and compassion.

Swamiji was instructed by his teacher Baba Muktananda to give shaktipat. Baba said of him: 'He is able to carry my message to everyone, he has the power to make people experience the divine presence'.

The Intensive is suitable for all levels of meditators, from beginners to advanced. It is a day-long program and is held four times a year at the Shiva Ashram in Mount Eliza and also at the interstate centres when scheduled.

The Intensive includes:

• Shaktipat
• 2 meditation sessions
• A talk by Swamiji
• Questions and answers
• Darshan, a chance to meet Swamiji and Devi Ma in person
• Chanting, videos and vegetarian lunch
