Intensives

The Intensive is an inner vacation that calms the mind and brings peace to the senses. The only program where Swamiji imparts the spiritual blessing of his guru by touch, the Intensive is suitable for all levels of meditators.

Shiva Yoga begins with shaktipat, the spiritual awakening. Swamiji subtly transmits spiritual energy, shakti, to the seeker. Shaktipat initiation is a mysterious ancient tradition of awakening the kundalini, the energy of the inner Self. This awakening transforms the understanding of the seeker. When the divine spark of the Self is ignited within us, we begin to unfold spiritually. The mind is drawn inward and becomes the vehicle for self-discovery and illumination. This is the fire of meditation, the fire of yoga.

Spiritual awakening
through shaktipat

Shakti enlivens our meditation practice, nurtures us and connects us to our deepest nature. It is an inner guide that helps us make intelligent and compassionate choices in life.

During the Intensive, Swamiji speaks on the philosophy and practise of meditation. There are talks on spiritual experiences and practices. We meditate on the Self, explore the Self and become immersed in the Self. The atmosphere of the Intensive become highly charged with spiritual energy, making it easy to turn within and meditate.

In 1975, Baba Muktananda, in his characteristic style, said of Swamiji, “(He) is able to carry my message to everyone. He has a great spirit of renunciation. He didn’t change his name to delude people. He has the power to make people experience the divine presence.”
