Adelaide Workshop, Satsang and Intensive
31 May – 1 June
Shiva Ashram experienced a warm welcome in Adelaide. Swami Dayananda, Ma Jan and all the Adelaide devotees hosted us with great love and care. It was great to see Swamiji and Devi Ma in Adelaide. After a small Satsang to welcome Swamiji and Devi to Adelaide on Friday night, it was time for the first of three special programmes.
Devi Ma led puja workshop on Saturday morning. The room was set up with a personal puja for everyone - a tray with an image of a Lakshmi, some fruit and flowers, sandalwood paste, incense, and red kum kum powder. Devi Ma led us in a puja, explaining that a puja was a ritual designed to invoke the power of the absolute and uplift us. Swamiji then conducted a water puja. We chanted mantras into water and drank it, dedicating it to health and strengthening the body. We were all left with a peaceful feeling.
That night, the room was packed for Satsang. The chanting was ecstatic and we had special guests: the tabla player Jay Dabgar and his wife Sheetal performed bhajans (chants) for us. Everyone met Swamiji, Devi, and also Ma Jan and Swami Dayananda.
Next morning, Swami Dayananda introduced the Intensive. This was a day for coming face to face with the Shakti and experiencing the peace within. To make this happen, Swamiji gave Shaktipat initiation, we chanted and we watched a video of Baba Muktananda, Swamiji’s guru. It was a Satsang which lasted all day.
Many thanks to Swamiji, Devi Ma, Swami Dayananda and Ma Jan. Many people dedicated themselves to making the weekend as special as it was. Special thanks also to Rob Crouch, who organised the venue and helped all the events run smoothly.
