Swamiji in Geelong
October 14-15, 2011
This weekend Swamiji and Devi Ma held a highly successful and well attended Satsang and Intensive in Geelong.
On Friday the 14th October there was a Happy for No Good Reason Program held at the All Saints’ Hall in Newtown, Geelong.
A buzz of curious excitement was in the air as over 250 guests filed into the hall. Local resident, Angie Hilton was the MC for the program and warmly welcomed everyone.
Swamiji shared autobiographical stories of how he came to be on the spiritual path. He discussed the importance of the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ in calming the mind and emotions, drawing on his own experience. He also shared how, during a time of intense fear during his sadhana, his Guru, Baba Muktananda, told him to repeat the mantra, ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ intensely and within two days Swamiji’s state was transformed.
We then meditated using the mantra and everyone had an opportunity to come up and meet Swamiji and Devi Ma.
The next day, there was a meditation Intensive. For the majority of people it was their first Intensive.
Swami Atamananda, who runs the Geelong centre with Durga Ma, gave an introductory talk. He spoke about the Kundalini Shakti and the possible effects of the inner awakening received through Shaktipat.
We then had the pleasure of hearing Swamiji speak on Kashmir Shaivism and the mind. Swamiji discussed the phenomena on tearing thoughts, or thoughts that attack our own self, and how through meditation we can uplift the mind and emotions. We then had a long meditation during which Swamiji gave Shaktipat, the inner awakening.
The program ended with an opportunity to say hello to Swamiji and Devi Ma.
